menular melalui rongga hidung penjamah makanan.
One Way ANOVA dan Post Hoc Test.
Berdasarkan diameter zona
hambat, efikasi antibiotik paling tinggi adalah ciprofloxacin, diikuti clindamycin
dan chloramphenicol, lalu gentamicin.

Background: Staphylococcal food poisoning is caused by Staphylococcus aureus
(S. aureus) that contaminate food such as through transmission from food
handlers? noses. Bacterial food poisoning requires antibiotic therapy. This study
aims to test the susceptibility and compare the diameter of the inhibition zone of
several antibiotics against S. aureus taken from the collection of isolates from
nasal swabs of food handlers in the canteen of Mataram University.
Method: The study is an experimental analytic based on laboratory with posttest
only approach consisting of sterilization of materials and antibiotic sensitivity
testing with disc diffusion technique. Statistical tests were carried out using One
Way ANOVA and Post Hoc Test.
Result: The results showed the average diameter for gentamicin, ciprofloxacin,
clindamycin, and chloramphenicol were 17.7 mm, 28.95 mm, 23.58 mm, and
23.08 mm, respectively and still categorized as sensitive. Statistical tests showed a
significant difference in the diameter of the inhibition zone of the four antibiotics
(p < .05).
Conclusion: It can be concluded that the four antibiotics are suitable to treat
infections caused by S. aureus. Based on the diameter of the inhibition zone, the
highest antibiotic efficacy was ciprofloxacin, followed by clindamycin and
chloramphenicol, then gentamicin.
