IDENTIFIKASI BAKTERI GRAM POSITIF RESISTEN ANTIBIOTIK DARI CAECUM AYAM PEDAGING DI RUMAH PEMOTONGAN HEWAN KOTA MATARAM
BSTRAK
vancomycin.
Hasil : Bakteri resisten cefotaxime pada media Man Rogosa Sharpe Agar
morfologi seragam (koloni kecil, bulat, elevasi convex, tepi entire, warna putih,
Uji katalase Man
Bakteri media Man
bervariasi.Prevalensi bakteri resisten antibiotik cefotaxime caecum sebesar 5,24%.

viiABSTRACT
Background : The use of antibiotics as AGP (Antimicrobial Growth Promoter) in
broilers subtherapeutically has driven the evolution and spread of Antimicrobial
Drug Resistance (AMR) in the gut microbiota. Antibiotic resistance is a global
threat that brings many losses, especially antibiotic resistance from broilers.
Objective: This study aims to determine the population description, morphology,
catalase test results, and antibiotic sensitivity of erythromycin and vancomycin to
cefotaxime-resistant Gram-positive bacteria in the caecum of broilers at the
Mataram City slaughterhouse.
Methods: Exploratory descriptive study using 5 broiler caecum samples from the
slaughterhouse of Mataram City. Bacteria were analyzed using dilution method
for Total Plate Count (TPC) calculation on Man Rogosa Sharpe Agar (MRSA)
media with and without cefotaxime. Swabbing was performed on MRSA and
MSA media for morphological observation, catalase test, and sensitivity test to
erythromycin and vancomycin.
Results : Cefotaxime-resistant bacteria on Man Rogosa Sharpe Agar media have
uniform morphology (small colonies, round, convex elevation, entire edge, white
color, positive rod), while on MSA media the morphology varies in terms of size,
shape, elevation, edge, color and Gram staining. Man Rogosa Sharpe Agar
catalase test was negative, while MSA had positive and negative results.
Resistance to erythromycin and vancomycin Man Rogosa Sharpe Agar was 80%,
while MSA erythromycin resistance was 62.5% with variable vancomycin
inhibition zones. The prevalence of cefotaxime-resistant bacteria was 5.24%.
Conclusion : Bacteria on MSA media showed diverse morphology, catalase test
results and resistance to erythromycin. Man Rogosa Sharpe Agar media bacteria
have the same morphological variations and catalase test results, but resistance to
erythromycin and vancomycin obtained varying results. The prevalence of
cefotaxime antibiotic resistant bacteria in the caecum was 5.24%.
