Ekstraksi dilakukan
penghambatan denaturasi protein. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fraksi etanol
ekstrak n-heksana Sargassum cristaefolium memiliki TFC sebesar 0.15 ? 0.005
mgQE/g.
aktivitas antiinflamasi kuat. Studi ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar pengembangan
produk farmasi dan nutraseutikal berbasis sumber daya laut.

ABSTRACT
Macroalgae Sargassum cristaefolium is a bioactive source rich in secondary
metabolite compounds, including flavonoids and polar lipids, which have potential as
natural anti-inflammatory agents. This study aims to analyze the total flavonoid
content (TFC) and test the anti-inflammatory activity of the ethanol fraction from nhexane extract of Sargassum cristaefolium in vitro. Extraction was performed using
the Soxhlet method with n-hexane solvent, followed by fractionation with 96%
ethanol. Flavonoid content was determined quantitatively using the colorimetric
method, while anti-inflammatory activity was tested using the protein denaturation
inhibition method. The research results showed that the ethanol fraction of n-hexane
extract of Sargassum cristaefolium had a TFC of 0.15 ? 0.005 mgQE/g. Meanwhile,
the IC50 of anti-inflammatory activity obtained for the ethanol fraction of n-hexane
extract of Sargassum cristaefolium and sodium diclofenac were 76.08 ? 0.708 ?g/ml
and 44.38 ? 10.97 ?g/ml respectively, which are considered strong in antiinflammatory activity. This study is expected to serve as a foundation for the
development of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products based on marine
resources.
